Is GembaDocs Available for Offline Use?

GembaDocs is primarily a cloud-based platform, which means it is designed to be accessed through an internet connection. All documents, updates, and system activity are stored securely online to ensure consistency, traceability, and access to the most current information. This approach allows teams to view and manage documents from any device with a modern web browser, whether they are working on the shop floor, in an office, or at another location.
Because GembaDocs relies on real-time access to cloud-hosted data, full offline use is not supported in the standard cloud deployment. An active internet connection is required to create, update, approve, and publish documents. This ensures that users are always working from the latest approved version and that change history and access logs remain accurate.
That said, GembaDocs recognizes that some environments have limited or unreliable connectivity. In these cases, documents that are already open on the mobile app may remain viewable for a short time if the connection is lost. Once connectivity is restored, the system automatically syncs to ensure accuracy and version control.
For organizations that require greater control over availability or cannot rely on external internet access, GembaDocs also offers an on-premises version of the platform. This allows GembaDocs to be hosted within your own network, supporting internal access even when external connectivity is restricted. This option is well suited for regulated environments or facilities with strict IT requirements.
If offline access is a key requirement for your operation, the GembaDocs team can help you explore the best deployment option for your needs.
Note: Product visuals may vary slightly as we continue to improve and update the platform.
