Kanban labels are the field names printed on your Kanban cards - things like Part Description, Supplier, Order Qty, and so on. You can customize these to match the language your team uses on the floor.

How to edit your Kanban labels

From your Kanban dashboard, look for the toolbar along the top right of the screen.

  • Click the Edit Kanban Labels icon (shown in the toolbar)
  • Update whichever field names you want to change
  • Click Save

Any labels you change will apply to all new Kanbans your team members create going forward.

Already have Kanbans in place?

If you want to update labels on Kanbans you have already created, you need to take one extra step.

On the Edit Kanban Label screen, find the toggle at the bottom labelled Apply these labels to all existing Kanbans and switch it to ON before saving.

This pushes your updated labels across all existing Kanbans - not just new ones your colleagues create in the future.

Restore to original

Changed your mind? Hit the Restore To Original button at the top of the Edit Kanban Label screen to revert back to the default GembaDocs label names.
